Want a part in making the Charlotte Horror Fest happen?

We believe Charlotte would be cooler if it had a great horror fest. If you do to, we may be a good fit for each other.

Volunteer benefits include free tickets to screenings and plenty of opportunities to meet up-and-coming horror and sci-fi filmmakers. Not to mention the bragging rights that come with being part of making something close to your heart go from being an idea to a reality.

The first step in becoming a volunteer is to fill out our online volunteer application form.  After we’ve received it and had a chance to review the form, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator. How soon we respond to your application depends mainly on whether you are interested in working with us year-round or just during the event – so do not think we’ve turned your application down if you don’t hear from us right away.

In order to be a volunteer at the event you must attend the Volunteer Training Session. Details will be explained by the Volunteer Coordinator when you are contacted.

What is a volunteer training session?

At the volunteer training session you will get to meet the festival staff, sign up for shifts and find out what your position will be during the event. The staff will go over volunteer guidelines and general festival operations. Additionally, if your position requires unique training, we will assist you in learning your role in relation to the festival. You will be provided with hands on examples and tools that will aid your experience as a volunteer. There will be several volunteer training sessions and it is required of all volunteers to attend.

ALL Charlotte Horror Fest Volunteers are required to attend at least one of the volunteer training sessions.
